Jewellery Workshops and Courses
I am a qualified Goldsmith with over 30 years experience in the jewellery Trade. I have had a successful career both as a goldsmith, running my own shop and workshop, but also with my involvement with the UCE (Birmingham School of Jewellery) as a lecturer at the University but also as an NVQ Internal and External Examiner to the students of the University and also to work placed students in the Jewellery quarter. This is something I particularly enjoyed doing. I have also designed and written Jewellery courses and their curriculum, which has been approved and passed by the examining board and implemented into colleges such as North Warwickshire College of Art, which is still running to this day.
In 2016 I had the great honour of designing and hand-making The Prince's Trust Anniversary Trophy as they celebrated their 40th year in business and I shared this celebration with them as I also celebrated my 30th anniversary in May 2016, which was set up by The Prince's Trust! This is something I am enormously proud of.
It was an even greater sense of occasion and celebration for me as I was also able to present the Anniversary Trophy I had made to His Royal Highness Prince Charles, which really was a highlight of my career!
With this accolade under my belt, Shane and I knew that it was time to move our careers in a different direction. With the love and passion I have for jewellery making, we decided to go back to those roots that gave me so much pleasure... The teaching and lecturing of Jewellery Making to people of all ages, allowing me to give my students an insight into the fascinating world of fine jewellery making, allowing them to be taught the fundamental skills of the Silversmith or Goldsmith.
The jewellery courses are structured in such a way that, as a total beginner you will learn on the first day how to make your very own silver ring, and by making this first piece of jewellery you will cover an array of techniques. This is the one and only time that all recruits make the same piece of jewellery. Once completed, you can then design and hand make your own pieces, the design stage and of course the making process is something that I will guide and support you through.
For anyone who may be more advanced in jewellery making, it will still be necessary for you to make that first silver ring, in order for me to evaluate your skills and more importantly so that you get used to using my tools and equipment.
Once completed, you will be able to join any of our morning courses that tend to run on a Monday, Wednesday , Thursday and Friday from 10am till 2pm @ 25 Euros each morning, this includes refreshments, and any materials used are charged additionally.

These mornings are for ANYONE WHO HAS MADE THE SILVER RING WITH US BEFORE!!!
As we always say the Beginner's Day is the ONLY time that we set the project for you to make....Now it is your turn to be creative and make anything you want. You can join any of these mornings and Clare will guide you through your personal project stage by stage.
It is 25 Euros for each morning, and this includes refreshments. ( materials for your project are an additional cost) or you can use your own gold or silver to make your jewellery. Also tea/coffee on arrival and cake and coffee at break included.

Why not start 2024 with a NEW SKILL. Come along to one of our BEGINNERS JEWELLERY EXPERIENCE DAYS. Enjoy learning all the skills of a fine jeweller. Included in the day is refreshments, lunch, silver ring, cava and canapés to finish .
The day is full of fun and enjoyment in a relaxed setting.
Or get together a group of friends and book a private day for only 70 euros per person. Tuesday, Thursday and some Saturdays available.
After achieving the silver ring you can join the Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday classes to make what you want. 10 to 2pm. 25 euros per session plus materials.

Creative jewellery day

Creative days are for all the people that have made the silver ring with us on the beginners experience day. The day starts at 9.45am and finishes at 5:00pm. The day includes refreshments, lunch, cava and canapés. The silver and gold the materials used on the day are an extra cost . The day it’s self lets you explore your creative side and make what you liked, we have many examples to inspire you so the day can be as productive as possible for you. Refreshments, lunch, cava and canapés to finish all included.

Personal One to One Tuition.
This is for a personal one to one tuition, just for you! You can book to have a day tailored to your own personal requirements. You can book this as an individual days tuition or additiional days. These can then be taken as a block altogether or booked as a day course with the other days set out over a period of time to fit in with your schedule. What ever experience or ability you have the course is tailored for your needs. You will have a detailed and intense course, making jewellery of your own choice. Gemstones can be used as well as gold or other materials. You will have Clare's help and expertise to get as much technical knowledge and experience out of the course as possible.
Please note that for any course, the first silver ring you make the silver is included into the course price. Any additional jewellery you make thereafter, the materials will be paid by the student and will be at cost price for the silver, gold and gemstones, etc.
Each class can accommodate 6 people only, so booking with your friends is essential to ensure a place together.
A "Presentation Pack" is available for those of you that would like to book a loved one onto a jewellery course, so you can give the pack to them yourself as part of the surprise.
Private Tuition
Jewellery by Clare is also able to offer this unique experience. Based on an exclusive Jewellery making course, the private tuition is designed and structured to your own personal requirements.
A full week course is setup especially for a maximum of 2 people to ensure the maximum attention is given to your every need. Lunch and refreshments are included in the fees and runs for five consecutive days.
